What does Homegrown with Heart mean?

These films will show you.

Farming is truly a labor of love for the four farm families featured in these short 3-4 minute films. We teamed up with local Catskills filmmaker Isaac Green Diebboll to bring you a glimpse of the work–and the heart–that goes into the food you find at our local farmers markets. Enjoy, and see you at the market.

Get to Know the Filmmaker

Isaac Green Diebboll

People have to understand what the farmer goes through.

“That’s what Matt Burns of Beaverdam Brook Farm said when I was filming him. That’s why I make films.

I want to get to the core of each person’s humanity, show what they love to do and share that with the people in their community. So we can better understand the people we live with. Sometimes all we need is a reason, I try to create that reason with my films.

The farmers of Sullivan County have a painful past, many have lost their farms and have gone out of business.

As someone who lives in Sullivan County, it’s an honor to share these stories of four different Sullivan County farms who have found success, and to support them by sharing their hard work and to hopefully inspire others to follow in their footsteps.”
